How did Developnomics originate ?

Being coined for the first time in a 2008 New York Times article: “Freakonomics Developnomics”. An article making mention to “Economic Gangsters: Corruption, Violence, and the Poverty of Nations” By Raymond Fisman and Edward Miguel. The term encompasses the idea of economics and development being inherently intertwined.

I hold an undergraduate honours degree for International Development at King’s College London, and currently undertaking an MSc for Political Economy. So personally, the term resonated. Being from Costa Rica, my focus is set on the growth of nations pushed by disruptive public policies and region dynamics. This blog aims to cover issues ranging from the development in Latin America to new discussions about the use of carbon credits, sustainability and regional development opportunities. Mainly focused on multinational enterprises targeting energy, sustainable financing, infrastructure and public policy developments.

Latin America is a region with high possibilities of growth; and despite its tumultuous political and economic past, with the right focus, data analysis, and early strategic approaches, it can reach percentile yearly growth to the likes of South East Asia.
